Award winning gluten free thin crust pizza base mix. Recipe was developed in a team effort with Gip Dammone of Salvo’s Pizzeria of Leeds (one of the UK’s top 5 pizzerias). Gip asked us to help him perfect a gluten and wheat-free pizza base. The result tastes ‘just like mama used to make’. Now dairy free and suitable for vegans.
To make 4 thin-crust pizza bases you’ll need:
300g of Isabel’s Pizza Base Mix (2 sachets)
200ml of cow’s or soya milk
3 Tbsp olive oil
1 large free-range egg, lightly whisked.
To make the bases vegan you’ll need:
300g of Isabel’s Pizza Base Mix (2 sachets)
200g of mashed potato or sweet potato or squash
1½ tsp of baking powder to the mix instead of the egg
300ml soya or almond milk
3 Tbsp olive oil.
Add herbs such as oregano or finely chopped wild garlic to the flour mix
for more flavour, optional, but nice.
