Steenbergs Organic Fairtrade Cinnamon is a beautifully fragrant, sweet spice made from true Ceylon cinnamon never cassia sourced from small scale family growers in Sri Lanka and occasionally Zanzibar. With its citrus lemon top notes, delicate warmth and soft buff colour, it brings a uniquely refined flavour to both sweet recipes and aromatic savoury dishes.
Produced from carefully peeled young cinnamon shoots, the bark is rolled into fine quills before being dried in warm shade, preserving both essential oils and delicate sweetness. These quills are then finely milled to create a smooth, aromatic powder ideal for French toast, rice pudding, fruit, curries or slow cooked lamb.
