The College of Naturopathic Medicine (CNM) has been training natural therapists for almost three decades and is now offering a Natural Chef training for those who want to join the new Wellness revolution in the food and catering industry.
There is no Wellness without thinking about what you put on your plate and the principles behind the Natural Chef course - and its Natural Chef Vegan counterpart - are 100 per cent wholesome and health promoting.
Natural Chef students learn about the body – both how it works and how food is absorbed and converted to energy. They discover for themselves the truth of the maxim ‘You Are What You Eat’ and take classes in therapeutic juicing, fermentation and the clever use of wholesome nuts and seeds, alongside more traditional lessons in menu development, knife skills and food photography.
The award-winning College which is one of the UK’s top training establishments boasts a state-of-the art kitchen where white sugar, table salt and other everyday ‘poisons’ are banned. Instead, our Natural Chefs learn to source and create nutritious and delicious dishes using natural ingredients that support health and wellbeing, without sacrificing taste. Two thirds of this course is all about hands-on cooking, the other third is theory.
Students can opt to learn in person at our London-based college, complete with its own culinary herb garden, or they can choose to study online. They will learn the principles of food combining to not only promote optimum health for those they eventually cook with and for, but also to tackle common everyday health problems such as digestive disorders, sleep problems and burn out. Because the real difference between a Natural Chef and any other is that a Natural Chef understands the workings of the body, its digestive organs and why the absorption of the nutrients on your plate is crucial to wellness.
Our Natural Chef courses are now recognised and respected industry-wide with our graduates going on to luminous careers as cookery instructors, recipe writers, retreat chefs, cookbook authors and even new restaurant owners!
