A low carb keto take on a classic bolognese! This recipe contains heaps of delicious ingredients and is served on the wonderful better than rice.

Serves: 4 portions

Time: 30-40mins

  • Deep saucepan with lid
  • Chopping board
  • Knife
  • Wooden spoon


For the bolognese sauce:

To serve:


  1. Start by warming the oil in the saucepan. Add in the onions and garlic and allow to cook for 5mins (until soft) and then place onto a bowl to one side.
  2. Next add in the ground beef and season well, whilst cooking fully through. Add the onions and garlic back into the pan with the ground beef alongside the rest of the vegetables, chopped tomatoes, tomato puree, bone broth and mixed herbs. 
  3. Bring to the boil and then allow to simmer for 25-30mins or until the vegetables have cooked through. If the bolognese sauce is looking to thick add in some more broth.
  4. As the sauce is beginning to finish up, follow the instructions on the better than rice packet.
  5. Plate up, serve and enjoy!
